Whistler2020’s Monitoring Program tracks and reports our status and progress toward the Whistler2020 Vision through Core Indicators, Strategy Indicators as well as other contextual community indicators. The monitoring program tracks progress, informs decision-making, and ensures accountability while educating and engaging community members and stakeholders. Whistler's contextual indicators provide updated information and trends on a range of indicators not included in the Whistler2020 Core and Strategy Indicators.  The information is bundled into the following categories:

Population and Demographics

This section presents an analysis of population growth trends,demographic, socio-economic, and household characteristics for Whistler’s permanent resident population. This analysis also includes some data for the neighbouring communities of Squamish and Pemberton.

Housing and Accommodation

This section  provides a summary of the latest Statistics Canada Information on housing in Whistler as well as information on Whistler’s current inventory of market and resident restricted housing by accommodation type. This inventory also includes commercial accommodation units that serve visitors.

Business, Resort Development, Real Estate, and Municipal Finances 

This section provides an analysis of some aspects of the resort business; it identifies trends in resort visitation, construction activity, real estate, commercial and industrial space inventories, business statistics and municipal fiscal trends.

Resort Visitation

This section provides an overview of visitation numbers for various activities and venues in Whistler. It also provides links to trends on visitor numbers, room nights sold in the resort and accommodation occupancy levels.

Environment, Land and Resource Use

This section contains data on Whistler's land base/use patterns as well as climate data and links to the community's use of resources such as water and energy.
